## **A number of canonical rules that many of you already know...**

- Publish at least one photo per day, but not more than three.

- Publish at least one photograph in the evening, using your target audience’s local time. If that audience is in Moscow, publish one post in the evening, Moscow time.

- Avoid words such as “follower boosting” in your bio. Instagram is full of these offers, and they will put off part of your target audience.

- Make the profile look like an ordinary person’s account, not an SMM specialist’s.

- Post photographs from your life, not images advertising boosting services.

- Publish the video at least once a week. Video from personal life is recommended.

- Besides promotion-related hashtags, use the kinds of tags ordinary people put in photo descriptions. If the photograph shows flowers, the tags should be relevant to flowers.

- Include contact details, at least a WhatsApp number.

- If you have a website, then link to it.

- Make sure to promote your profile through [ARC Following](http://bos.bz/login.html?t=2&w=6&m=1&f=51&s=0), so that the numbers grow gradually. Your target audience should see that your profile is developing rather than standing still; otherwise, conversions may fall because people distrust you as a professional.

- Bring the number of subscribers to at least 10 - 15 thousand, as practice shows, such profiles are much more trusted.

- Use a photograph as your profile picture, rather than your company logo. A logo in the profile picture will reduce conversion severalfold.

- If you have not posted anything for more than a week, you might as well delete your Instagram profile. Then delete Instagram from your phone and forget about SMM until your next life: a good SMM specialist never neglects their own promotion!

…if all the preceding steps are complete, you can start looking for your target audience on Instagram…

Our experience shows that regularly searching manually for your target audience on Instagram can add at least a thousand dollars to your income within a few weeks. The steps described are relevant now and will remain so for a long time…

## **How to find and work with your target audience on Instagram:**

- Search for your target audience on Instagram every day. Spend at least 2-3 hours. No days off or skipped days.

- Search hashtags for the keywords you want to work with, then find interesting people among the top posts. For example, if you want to work with advertising agencies, search advertising-related hashtags.

- Send a Direct message to each person you find interesting. Every message must be unique; otherwise, Instagram will ban your profile for spam!

- Never open with a blunt promotion offer! First start a conversation, learn the potential client’s interests and establish what they do. Only then make a targeted offer designed for that person.

- In conversation, avoid terms such as “follower boosting” or “rapid account growth” — everyone is tired of that approach, and it hardly works anymore… Use softer wording, such as “finding a target audience”, “promotion” or “attracting customers”.

- Where possible, move the conversation to Skype or a phone call. Instagram Direct is useful for first contact, not negotiations. Make the targeted offer during a conversation rather than in messages.
